Marine & General Engineering was established in January 1994, by its Managing Director, Stanley Govender. The Company started from small rented premises situated in Edwin Swales Drive, Rossburgh, Durban, South Africa. Phenomenal growth has been experienced from the first year, due to the dedicated Staff Members. Marine & General Engineering has built up a strong loyal client base in South Africa and Globally, over the years.

Marine & General Engineering achieved it’s ISO9001/2008 accreditation in the year 2002. The ISO management system is updated continually to suit our changing operational requirements and to ensure that our customer’s requirements are fully satisfied.
The Company purchased its own premises in the year 2000, from where it still operates today. The premises in are situated at 50 Dudley Street, Jacobs, Durban, South Africa. It is ideally located five minutes away from the Harbor, Airport and central to all other industrial areas in Durban. The premises comprises of impeccably clean, modern workshops with crane facilities, pristine staff facilities and opulent offices. Our place of work has been designed to create the ideal environment for Staff to give off their best at all times.
We utilize 2000 square meters of Workshops, which includes machine shop and fabrication shop, sandblasting and spray-painting areas. We are in the unique position to extend our manufacturing facilities as and when we need, due to us having a further 7800 square meters of warehousing space at our disposal. The Office Administration is housed in a 600 square meter building on the property.
Marine & General Engineering’s staff, is its greatest asset. We have qualified and highly experienced personnel in Design/Drafting, CNC Programming, Fitters, Turners, Boilermakers, Coded Welders with DNV approvals, Spray Painters, Technical Coordinators and Machine Operators. We are committed to the training of our unskilled staff in order to impart skills and improve their Living Standards and it is noticeable that many are now qualified Operators.
